San Francisco crime - mapping in action

www.sanfrancisco.crimspotting.org

Here is a great example of how geography is used by police forces all over the world. Mapping crime is a great tool for understanding patterns of certain at risk areas and this helps police to ascertain the cause of crimes and where they should police most heavily.

This interactive map shows crimes by type (muder, robbery, drink driving etc...) by location and also by time of day too.

BRILLIANT!
