This new species of rat is one of the largest ever found and is 5 times the size of a normal rate. It was discovered deep in the tropical rainforests of Papua New Guinea. The rat, which has no fear of humans, measures 82cm long, placing it among the largest species of rat known anywhere in the world. Conservationists also discovered a new pygmy possum on the same expedition.
